Gallagher Estates acquired the freehold to this former Fullers Earth Works site from its former industrial operator in 2013.
Situated in the green belt, this site is testament to the fact that not all green belt is attractive rolling countryside. The site is over 50% brownfield and located just 800 metres from Redhill town centre and the nearby Redhill railway station, which provides access to London Victoria within 30 minutes.
A former factory site, Gallagher Estates was selected by the industrial operator to purchase the site on the basis of our willingness to accept all historic environmental liabilities.
Our plans are to transform this 43 acre derelict factory site into a stunning new residential community within a mature woodland setting.
Our proposals, which we are currently promoting to both the emerging Reigate and Banstead Local and Neighbourhood Plans, now benefit from a draft allocation for development and we will continue to work with the Council and local residents in drawing up our future planning application.
As a result of intensive due-diligence, a hallmark of any Gallagher Estates transaction, we were comfortable in accepting the transfer of all historic environmental liabilities. This gave the landowner significant comfort and reassurance and was a key element in securing the transaction.
