Two major appointments at L&Q Estates

One of the UK’s major land promoters and developers based in Warwick has made two major appointments as it continues to expand.

Adrian Clack has been promoted to Managing Director of L&Q Estates following the retirement of Ian Hardwick, while Richard Edwards is now Group Land and Planning Director.

Clack graduated from the University of Portsmouth with a Bachelor’s Degree in Land Management and rose through the ranks during his 12 years with Taylor Wimpey, becoming Regional Strategic Land Director in the West Midlands.

He joined L&Q Estates, who are developers and promoters of residential, commercial and mixed-use developments, in 2014 as Group Land Director.

Edwards has more than 25 years’ experience as a town planner in the private and public sector.

After starting his career at a local authority, he worked at a national planning consultancy before moving into the housebuilding sector at Barratt Developments and Redrow Homes.

He joined L&Q Estates in 2017 as Planning Director and was promoted to Group Planning Director in 2020.

Clack said this was an exciting time to be taking over as Managing Director with a strong pipeline of work throughout the business.

“L&Q Estates is renowned for creating communities with sustainability at their heart in the developments we are involved in throughout the UK and that is an ethos we will be continuing,” he said.

“We are growing year-on-year as a business and the move to our new headquarters in Tachbrook Park in Warwick is testimony to that.

“I feel privileged to be leading such a talented team of staff who have vast experience and expertise in assembling land, promoting and securing planning and delivering the infrastructure needed to provide much-needed housing and commercial development.”

Edwards added: “This is a great time to have moved to the new role of Group Land and Planning Director as we remain focused on building strong relationships with landowners, agents and local authorities that are vital to the success of our developments whether that is in the residential or commercial field.

“We have been at the forefront of the industry for over 60 years and have built up an enviable track record of delivery which we are determined to maintain in the short, medium and long-term through our pro-active attitude to engage with the communities where we operate.”
